Tranquility Llamas Services

Tranquility Llamas is a full-service llama farm. We offer a wide variety of services above and beyond the sale of our wonderful llamas. Take a look at the services listed below - we believe we have something for everyone!
Breeding:
Tranquility Llamas has a selection of 5 studs with diverse bloodlines available for breeding to your quality female llama. We do an initial stall breeding, followed by field breeding for a number of weeks. Contact us for prices and other details.

Boarding:
Tranquility Llamas has a limited number of spaces available for boarding your llamas. We usually have openings for youngsters and females, but occasionally we will be able to accomodate intact males. Included in the boarding fee is daily care and feeding, shearing, and limited training. Veterinary care is available at an extra charge. Contact us for prices and to review our boarding agreement.

Field Trips:
Bring your club, scout troop or other group out to Tranquility Llamas for an informative visit, where your group can experience llamas up close and personal. Group sizes limited to 20 or less. Contact us for avaible times and dates.

4H:
Tranquility Llamas is always looking for a few good 4H members to come out to the farm and lease a llama that they can show at 4H fairs. We will work with a limited number of 4H'ers during the spring and summer months to prepare them to show a llama in halter, obstacle, costume and showmanship classes. Contact us in early spring regarding 4H llama leasing.

Llama Show Judging:
Verona Barr has been judging non-ALSA llama shows for about 10 years, typically judging 3-4 shows per summer season. Verona will travel to shows in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Wisconsin. If you are planning a llama show at your county fair or other event, contact us for availability.

Llama Visits:
Would you like to have a llama visit your group instead of coming to the farm? We also offer llama visits to schools, nursing homes, day care centers, etc. Contact us for available dates and times.

Shearing:
We have often been asked to provide shearing service for our customers, and have done so in the past. We will come out to your farm to shear any llama that you purchase from us and instruct you on how to do it yourself.

Spinning Lessons:
Along with purchase of wool from Tranquility Llamas, we offer basic drop spindle and wheel spinning lessons so you can experience for yourself the joys of working with llama wool. We also have hand-made drop spindles available for purchase.

Training:
Tranquility Llamas does basic training of the llamas we offer for sale. We also work with certain llamas to train for obstacle course, backpacking, costume and P.R. appearances. We help our customers learn how to handle and train the llamas that they purchase from us.

Wool:
Tranquility Llamas has processed wool, ready to spin, in several different natural shades, as well as raw wool, for sale by the ounce. We also offer custom spinning of our wool into single or double ply yarns, suitable for knitting, crocheting, weaving or other crafts. Contact us for prices and available wool colors.
